Dick,
a Dayton native, is recognized as an award-winning carver,
judge and lecturer in the United States, Canada and England.
He is a regional representative of the national Woodcarvers
Guild and a founder and past president of the Dayton
Carvers Guild. His work has been included in books
by a British fine arts instructor. In 1978 he appeared
in a BBC movie titled "Pilgrim Carvers."
Dick has taught at Riverbend since 1973.
