Don has been an instructor at Riverbend for over 25 years and has been faceting for 30 years after having taught himself. He began to enter and win competitions in 1977 and is now recognized as one of the nation's premier faceters. He placed, by competition, on the U.S. team for 6 consecutive years in an international competition. In 1991, Don received the highest ranking of Supreme Master in the United States Faceting Guild, of which he is now an officer. He is active in several other organizations such as the Mid-West Faceters Guild and continues to hone his craft and contribute to it by serving on the various organizations and teaching his craft to others through classroom instruction, seminars and demonstrations.
